Obituary for Jack "Jake" Iacolino

Jack "Jake" F. Iacolino, 81, passed away Thursday October 18, 2007. Jack was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Arnone) Iacolino and was a life long resident of Enfield. A WWII veteran, he served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1985, Jack had been employed for over 25 years with Stanadyne, Windsor, CT. In his leisure time Jack enjoyed playing cards at the Rinaldi Fede Vet. Post, driving his car and watching all sports especially the UCONN girl's basketball games. Jack is survived by his sister, Carmella A. Desrosiers and her husband Albert of Enfield, a special nephew and niece, Michael Young and companion Manon Belanger of Windsor and Marie Dumond and her husband Philip along with their children, Jaime Dumond Maynard and Michael Dumond all of Enfield. He also leaves 3 sisters-in-law, Loraine, Theresa and Jean Iacolino, all of Enfield and several nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces and cousins. Jack was predeceased by 5 brothers, Charles, James, Joseph, Carlo and John Iacolino and a sister Lena Stout. Funeral services in celebration of Jack's life will be held 9 am Monday, October 22, 2007 from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 64 Pearl St, Enfield. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Sunday October 21, 2007 from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jack's memory may be made to the American Cancer Assoc. 538 Preston Ave. Box 1004 Meriden, CT 06450-1004 Jack's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Parkway Pavilion for the devoted care given to Jack during his illness.
