The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kurt Wenzel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

K- Man. The Man

I probably was about 12 years old when I met Kurt he was at a neighbors house party and when he realized I played the drums he wanted to come over and sit on them and bang on them, he loved music and he loved the drums. When I was 16 at my first job I realized Kurt was going to be my boss I never thought having someone like him as a boss could be so much fun, we would wait till his boss (Gail) would leave and then he would bring me in the back store room show me where the sound system was to the whole place and we would turn on the legendary Licht on 99.1 wplr and we would rock all of Air La Carte. He knew the only way to get us all to work hard was too have us listening to rock and roll! I Remember this one time I was going to my senior prom and I needed to have a car and I couldn't rent one cuz I wasn't old enough and my father didn't want me to use his cuz he figured I probably would ruin it so Kurt was kind enough to give me his Buick Regal I polished it up I waxed it I had it looking nice and shiny and I took it to my senior prom.I was the lucky guy to have a car then, and Kurt of course was"THE MAN". I know Kurt married a couple of times but I know his true love was with Nancy and when he told me who he was marrying I was happy that I had already known the family from living in Windsor Locks I had known Nancy sons Scott and Brian and I was very very happy for the two of them. Then the fall parties started to happen I think it was right after his 50th birthday party and year after year we would have these wonderful parties over at the Wenzel's, those are going to be missed deeply but I'll tell you what,I don't think I ever left there hungry or missing any of the people I had grown up to know. Kurt you're in a safe place now and you no longer are in pain, you will be sadly missed but I know you have friends up there I know you're cranking music right now maybe even beating on a set of drums, and I know you're having a beer and I know you're no longer in pain hang in there my friend till we meet again my love always your friend Brian Zaine aka Z-Man ❤
