Charles  J.   Severns
Charles J. Severns, 81, of East Hartford and formerly of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 13, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Mary E. (George) Severns. Charles was born on Dec. 18, 1935 in Ludlow, MA to the late Charles A. and Doris R. (Bousquet) Severns. He had resided in Enfield for 34 years. Prior to retiring Charles was a truck driver for many years. He loved NASCAR racing and his dog “Eddie”.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his children; Kammy Ramsdell & husband Cliff of Windsor Locks, John Severns of Suffield and James Severns & wife Jane of Windsor Locks, his grandchildren; Stephanie Montville, Kristen Montville, Joshua Severns, Brian Severns, Branden Severns, Erin Severns and Rachel Severns, a great grandchild; Logan Egea. He is also survived by a sister; Sandra Soucey & husband Gene of Center Harbor, NH, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by a son; Brian Severns and a brother Neil Severns. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
