Ernest "Butch" A.  Bouthiette
Ernest “Butch” A. Bouthiette, 88, of Enfield, died peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ware, Massachusetts, Butch was the son of the late Alphonse and Beatrice (DeForge) Bouthiette. Butch grew up and attended schools in Somersville and has been a longtime resident of Enfield. He was a communicant of St. Aldalbert Church, and a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed by CL&P for twenty-three years and retired in 1991. Butch was an avid hunter and hockey fan. He will be sadly missed by his breakfast buddies, Chet and Andy; his Thompsonville Fire Department family and his Bosco boys. Butch proudly served his country with the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Jean A. (Reale) Bouthiette; his children, Linda B. Taylor and her husband, Ronald of Agawam, MA, Dee Thibodeau and her husband, Roger of Somers, and Ernie Bouthiette, Jr of Enfield; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kirsten, Brittany, Ronnie, Jr., Amy, Brandon, Brian, Kyle, Jake, Madeleine, Ernie III, and Gene; his great grandchildren, Gina, Angelina, Aviandah, Aleynah, Jai den, Bailey Dean, Bradley Ronald and Carmen Hope; two great great grandchildren, Alexander James and Ashton Tate; his brother Leonard Bouthiette and his wife, Lillian of Enfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marguerite and Janet and his brother, Charlie. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, December 17, 2016 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to St. Adalbert Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. followed by burial with Military Honors at St. Adalbert Cemetery. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 17, 2016 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and St. Jude Children’s Foundation.
