Joseph "Joe" A.  Bavaro
Joseph Anthony Bavaro, 84, of Enfield, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Springfield, MA on April 17, 1932 and graduated from Springfield Trade School. He joined the Army and fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged after being wounded in combat.
He married Josephine Albano of Enfield, CT and was married to her for 60 years. Early in their marriage they moved to Boston and live d in the Copley Square neighborhood for 2 years before moving back to Enfield, CT where they made their home. Joseph was employed by and retired from the State of CT Dept. of Transportation in Bloomfield, CT where he was a crew leader. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society in Enfield and Springfield. In his early years he loved having coffee and hanging out with friends at Lafiorentina Bakery and Ciros Restaurant in the South End of Springfield, MA. However, he will be forever remembered as the best father and grandfather there ever was. He adored his four grandchildren and retired early so the he could spend all his time with them through their childhood.
In addition to his wife, Josephine Albano Bavaro he leaves a daughter Lucy Ruvolo-Anderson and her husband Kevin of Enfield, CT, his four grandchildren Shanna Ruvolo, Joseph Ruvolo & his wife Theresa and great-grandson Hunter, Nicholas Ruvolo and Briawnna Ruvolo. He also leaves his brother Mike Bavaro, his nephew Mike Bavaro & his wife Deb and his niece Gina Bavaro and a brother Anthony Bavaro as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Lucy Bavaro, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Nicola and Agnesina (Cerrato) Albano and his sister-in-law Jacqueline Bavaro.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join his famiy during calling hours on Saturday Nov. 12, 2016 from 8:30 to 11:00 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Patrick Church, High & Pearl Streets in Enfield, CT. Interment with military honors will follow the Mass in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield. Flowers are graciously appreciated however memorial donations in his memory in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CT, 200 Executive Blvd. Ste. 4B Southington, CT 06489.
