Elaine (McDonald) Putney, 85, of Enfield entered into eternal rest on Saturday May 14, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Harry Putney. Elaine was born on July 7, 1930 in Woodstock, VT to the late George and Edna (Sees) McDonald. After graduating high school Elaine attended Trahagen School of Fashion in New York City. She had resided in Connecticut since 1957. She was able to be a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother caring for her family and home. In her leisure time she loved antiquing and was especially known for her antique bottle collection, she also enjoyed camping, traveling, loved to cook and was an avid reader.
Besides her husband Harry of 66 years, Elaine is also survived by her three daughters; Shirley Bloom & husband Ray of NY, Melanie Kirk of CA and Gigi Landry & husband John of Enfield, her two grandsons; Jeffrey Ekenbarger of Enfield and Steven Heravi & wife Laura of CA, and two great grandchildren; Violet & Jackson Heravi. Along with her parents Elaine was predeceased by a brother; Edwin McDonald.
Elaine’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday May 21, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Enfield Senior Center, 299 Elm Street Enfield, CT 06082.
