William J.  Ouellette, Sr.
William J. Ouellette, Sr. 75, of Enfield, CT, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday (Aug. 15, 2015) in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Mary M. (Marcello) Ouellette. William was born on Aug. 19, 1939 in Hartford, CT to the late Anthony and Ruth (Marsden) Ouellette. He was a graduate of Hall H.S., West Hartford and Ward School of Electronics and had resided in Enfield for the past 50 years, also spent winters in Lake Worth, FL for the past 16 years and in Hartford before moving to Enfield. Prior to retiring in 1995, William was employed with UTC /Hamilton Standard for 30 years. A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather his goal in life was caring for family and spending time with them, having had a passion for music he was a member of the choir & cantor at Holy Family Church for many years, a member of the OLS Fife & Drum Corp, played the trumpet with Paul Landerman’s Orchestra, was on the Board of Directors for Lake Clark Gardens, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball fan.
Besides his wife Mary, he is also survived by his beloved children; Elizabeth Delage and her husband Stephen of Newington, CT, Stephen Ouellette of Tolland, CT and William J. Ouellette, Jr and his wife Melissa of Utica, NY, his six adored and cherished grandchildren; Nicole, Danielle, Benjamin, Nicholas, Gabriella and Madeline. William also leaves behind his siblings;
Anthony Ouellette of Southington, CT, Richard Ouellette of West Hartford, CT, John Ouellette of Wallingford, CT, Jerry Ouellette of Weatogue, CT and Ruth Ouellette of West Hartford, CT, along with many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was also predeceased by his two brothers; Fr. Louis Ouellette and Thomas Ouellette.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Tuesday (Aug. 18, 2015) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (Aug. 19, 2015) at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT. (Meet at the church). Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield, CT. The family has requested memorial donations in his memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
