Obituary for Roger K. Kelting

Roger K. Kelting
Roger K. Kelting, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest, at the age of 80, on Wednesday July 15, 2015 peacefully in the comfort of his home with loved ones at his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Rolande M. (Clavette) Kelting. Roger was born on March 18, 1935 in Hartford, CT to the late Roger T. and Vivian (Boulanger) Kelting. He was a graduate of Weaver H.S. and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country proudly during the Korean War, stationed in Germany with the 4th Infantry Division. Roger had resided in Enfield for the past 56 years. He was a longtime parishioner and usher of St. Bernard Church and a very involved member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society charitable services for many years. He coached and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play hockey; a tribute hockey game was held in his honor on June 6th that included family members and friends.
Besides his loving wife Rolande, Roger is also survived by his children; Theresa Maron & husband Jeffrey of Tolland, Michael Kelting & wife Ellen of Enfield, David Kelting of Tolland and Lee Kelting & wife Kathleen of Tolland, his 10 beloved grandchildren; Aimee, Chrissy, Alicia, Steven, Jackie, Ryan, Sarah, Dylan, Tyler and Megan, his three cherished great-grandchildren and soon to be a fourth. He also is survived by his cherished brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marcel & Norma Thibodeau, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents. The family would like to thank Roger’s physician and friend Dr. Arthur Skalski for his extraordinary care and compassion.
Roger’s family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Monday July 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial (Meet at Church) will be celebrated on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church followed by military honors. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wickham Park, 1329 West Middle Turnpike Manchester, CT 06040 for a memorial bench or St. Vincent DePaul Society C/O St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082
