Michael A.  Woodson
Michael “Bubba” A. Woodson 68, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday May 7, 2015 surrounded by his family and a special cousin Ed.
He was born in Key West FL November 30, 1946, the son of the late Jeston and Mary (Kelly) Woodson. He was a graduate of Key West High School, Florida State University, Western New England College and the FBI Academy. Mike was formerly employed as a Connecticut State Police Trooper for thirty four years and retired in 2009 as Captain. He served his country honorably as a Captain in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mike was a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge Westfield MA, the Springfield Melha Shriners, the Connecticut State Police Museum, FBINA, the American Legion, and the National Ski Patrol. Mike was an avid reader, he enjoyed fishing, model trains, golfing, skiing, hunting, Cabela’s, and watching old movies. Mike was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty two years Beverly (Read) Woodson, also his son James and daughter in-law Lorie Woodson of Enfield, and daughter Susie Woodson and daughter in law Sarah Kolodziej of East Hampton CT, also a daughter Patty and son in-law Carmelo D’Arena of Kensington, CT. Mike also leaves seven grandchildren Ashley, Sebastian, Harper, Alessandro, Gianna, Ariella, and Andrea. He is also survived by a brother and sister in-law Kenny and Lynn Pedigo of Pooler, GA, and a brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Diane Pedigo of Savannah, Ga., his loving father & mother-in-law, Everett & Marion Read of Nova Scotia, Canada, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Woodson family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield followed by a Memorial service at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam MA. Memorials donations in his memory may be made to the Connecticut State Police Museum (CSP Museum.org) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
