Paul H. Nelson, 66, of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday (January 23, 2015) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. Paul was born on September 9, 1948 in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Edson H. and Alice L. (Haynes) Nelson. He grew up in East Windsor, was a graduate of East Windsor High School, and resided in Bloomfield for the past 31 years. Prior to retiring in 2013, Paul was employed by Delta Industries, East Granby, for many years. He was an avid golfer, a PGA member, a car enthusiast and NASCAR fan.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Leslie A. (LaVoice) Nelson, his brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Dale Nelson, of East Windsor; and other family members – George and Vickiann LaVoice of Enfield, Valerie Mikels of Southington, Wayne and Heidi Augusto of Hampden, Paul Augusto of Agawam, Mary and Undra Hill of Southington, Damian and Valerie LaVoice of New Hampshire, and Matthew and Tammie LaVoice of California.

Calling hours will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT. Family and friends will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph Residence, 1365 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082.
