Obituary for Barbara F. (Ferreira) Jones

Barbara F.  (Ferreira) Jones
Barbara Ann (Ferreira) Jones, 76, of Enfield, CT passed away Monday (December 10, 2012). Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts August 6, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Ferreira.
On August 19, 1956 she married Ronald Edward Jones who preceded her in death September 18, 2004.

She is survived by two sons; Stephen Jones and his wife Kathleen of State College, Pennsylvania and Kevin Jones and his companion Darlene of East Windsor, Connecticut, her five grandchildren Jennifer Dawson and her husband Michael of State College, PA, Michael Dawson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Daniel and Candice Jones of Hudson, New Hampshire, Christopher Jones and Megan Jones of State College, PA, two great-grandchildren; Lauren and Collin Dawson. She is also survived by her sisters; Deloris Goodie of Lexington, Mass, Jacqueline Clericuzio of Billerica, Mass, brothers; Michael Ferreira of Warwick, Rhode Island and Thomas Ferreira of San Diego, California. She was predeceased by a brother George Silva.

Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Lexington High School in Massachusetts.
She worked at Hansom Field in Bedford, MA, Jones Metal Products of South Windsor, CT and until her passing she worked with the Connecticut Department of Corrections in Hartford, CT.
Barbara’s passions were her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and Penn State football.

Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Sunday (Dec. 16, 2012) from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Dec. 17, 2012) with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. in Enfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House 501 George St., New Haven, CT 06511.
