Joseph E. "Joe"  White
Joe Edward White, 94, of 1365 Enfield St. ,Enfield, CT died Monday November 5, 2012 at his home (St. Joseph’s Residence) surrounded by his family and the Little Sisters of the Poor. Edward, as he was known, grew up in College Grove, TN, worked for Southern Bell Telephone prior to entering in the US Army signal core during WW II. He trained at Ft. Mammoth NJ and served throughout the South Pacific. He was anchored in Tokyo Harbor at the signing of the Japanese surrender. Edward is survived by his sons Leon P. and Carol Dodd of Franklin, TN, Frank P and Carol Dodd of Enfield, CT, Joseph E. Jr. & Pat White of Prescott, AZ, and James A. White of Bradyville, TN. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great Children and Sister Elizabeth Tanner of Williston, SC. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Louise, three sisters, two brothers, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday Nov.9th with calling hours from 9:00 am – 11:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Residence @ www.littlesistersofthepoorconnecticut.org.
